Before submitting a support ticket, try the following simple troubleshooting steps. These can often resolve issues quickly and save you time. If you're still having trouble, we're here to help.
💡 General Troubleshooting Tips
- Restart your computer:
Click the Start menu (Windows) or Apple icon (Mac), then choose "Restart." This refreshes the system and clears temporary bugs. - Check cables and connections:
Make sure all power, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and network cables are plugged in securely. If using a docking station, check its power too. - Test your internet connection:
Try opening google.com. If it doesn't load, restart your router or modem. Also, make sure airplane mode is off and Wi-Fi is enabled. - Close unused apps:
On Windows, pressCtrl + Shift + Esc
to open Task Manager. On Mac, pressCmd + Space
and search "Activity Monitor." Right-click high-memory apps and choose "End Task" or "Force Quit." - Run a virus scan:
Open your antivirus program (e.g., Windows Security or Malwarebytes), click "Scan Now," and let it complete a full scan. - Update your system:
- Windows: Go toSettings > Windows Update
and click "Check for updates."
- Mac: OpenSystem Settings > General > Software Update
and install available updates. - Try a different device:
If you're unsure whether a problem is with the device or app, try accessing it from another computer, phone, or network to isolate the issue.
🖥 Common Issues & Quick Fixes
1. Computer is Slow
- Restart the computer.
- Delete large files from Desktop and Downloads.
- Run Disk Cleanup (Windows: search for it in the Start menu).
- Uninstall unused programs from
Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall
.
2. Printer Not Working
- Ensure printer is powered on and connected to Wi-Fi or USB.
- Turn it off for 10 seconds and power back on.
- On Windows, go to
Devices & Printers
and click "Troubleshoot." - Replace ink or toner if levels are low.
3. Can't Connect to Wi-Fi
- Click the Wi-Fi icon and disconnect, then reconnect.
- Restart your computer and router.
- On Windows, run the troubleshooter:
Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Troubleshoot
.
4. Audio or Video Not Working
- Check your output device in sound settings (make sure the right speaker is selected).
- Unplug and reconnect headphones or speakers.
- Update sound drivers via
Device Manager > Sound
on Windows.
5. Application Won’t Open
- Right-click and choose "Run as Administrator" (Windows).
- Force quit and reopen on Mac via
Apple Menu > Force Quit
. - Reinstall the app if the problem continues.
6. Screen is Frozen
- Press
Ctrl + Alt + Delete
on Windows orCmd + Option + Esc
on Mac to open force quit options. - End unresponsive programs and wait 10–30 seconds for normal function to return.
- If unresponsive, hold the power button down for 5–10 seconds to force a restart.
7. Can't Log In
- Double-check Caps Lock is off and re-enter your password slowly.
- If available, click “Forgot password” and follow reset instructions.
- Still stuck? Contact IT support for a password reset.
8. USB Device Not Detected
- Try a different USB port or restart the PC.
- Go to
Device Manager > USB Controllers
and look for errors. - Right-click the device and click “Uninstall,” then unplug and reconnect.
9. Monitor Not Displaying
- Check the monitor’s power cable and video connection (HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA).
- Try another monitor or port to isolate the issue.
- On Windows, press
Windows + P
and select "Duplicate" or "Extend."
10. Files Disappeared or Missing
- Use the search bar in File Explorer or Finder to locate the file.
- Check the Recycle Bin or Trash in case it was deleted accidentally.
- If synced to a cloud service (Google Drive, OneDrive), log in and check the cloud backup.
